GK: joe hart- no brainer RB: plenty of competition, lots of youth as well. Glen johnson -may not start because firstly he isn't the best of the options in terms of quality imo (maybe in capello's eyes) and it may be better to bring a younger player through early- walker, richards, smalling, kelly etc. Smalling is the better on current form. CB: john terry- no brainer CB: rio is injury prone and getting on, jones maybe too young, cahill possibly best option atm. LB: cole maybe too old? Baines instead maybe but not for a while I wouldn't imagine. CDM: parker and barry have formed a good partnership and I can't imagine that being broken soon but I would like cleverley to be in one of their places. RW: walcott seems to be the preffered choice CAM: gerrard, lampard doesn't perform for england. In the likely abscense of gerrard young will take this role I believe. LW: downing when young plays central. CF: rooney. Hart, smalling, terry, cahill, cole, barry, parker, walcott, young, gerrard, rooney.

I largely agree with yours. I'd swap Rio Ferdinand for Terry at CB, and consider swapping Fabregas (who has dipped in form in the latter half of the season) for a defensive midfielder - probably Mascherano.

I do difer on strikers - to me, Torres is a better option than Van Nistelroy at the moment.

As for Manager, I have to say, making it to the Champions League semifinals 3 out of 4 years in a row, and winning it once is a pretty impressive accomplishment when you're managing a team with markedly sub-par players compared to the other CL teams in your league. So for me, Benitez.
