Who is the better midfielder - Keane or Gerrard or Lampard?

in your opinion, who is the better midfielder; Roy Keane (before he retired), Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard?

I personally think Roy Keane was a better midfielder before he retired as he had the aggression, passion and determination to win - something Lampard and Gerrard both lack and which has resulted in Englands exit of Euro 2008.

Roy Keane was brilliant. I think the only thing I think Gerrard and Lampard have got him beat in is the goals. A lot of focus goes on his leadership and the mental part of his game but I think his passing, for example, is vastly underrated.



I'm not sure I agree that Gerrard doesn't have passion and determination though - maybe not in comparison to Keano..



Anyone that says Fwank is a mentalist.

Roy Keane is one of the best ever, he knew his role and played it unbelievably well. Stevie G is also awesome, but a completely different player. Keane never really played long balls he just did was he needed to, as I said. No one could rival the affect his mere presence could have on opponents, but Gerrard is much better technically. They're both two of the best midfielders ever in their own right though. Lampard is minge, I don't rate him at all.

hold on, your talking about the best midfielder being Keane, but what did he ever do with Ireland?



at club level, I may agree that keane performed for years at the top, but I think Gerrard is the better all round player, and imo fat frank lampard isnt good enough to lace up either players' boots.

Roy Keane is a nasty leg break thug, with very little SKILL just brute force and nastiness, after what he did to Alf Inge Haaland he should not even be in the game, should have served a jail sentence for admitting he deliberately broke the guys leg

Defiantly Roy...He is the only one that could make every other player on the pitch **** themselves in fear. He was good at getting the best out of his own team and using the strengths of his team mates.
