your local team who only formed in the 193o's and have no major honours/ titles to their names and never will have. Or would you support one of the other local teams, two of whom are the biggest names in football and have plenty of titles and history, you also have other teams around you who have been around longer and are more likely to at least win a cup.

would you support your local team which will never achieve much? or do you support one of the surrounding teams who have better prospects.

Hmm, like most people, I enjoy success but that's not the reason I support Utd. I'll happily support us in the Conference if we do get liquidated or whatever due to the Glazers.

I've got no problem supporting smaller clubs but my dad chose Utd so I just followed like a lot of young boys do. Of the top of my head, I can't think of a guy I know that son supports a different club to him :P

I liked the idea of FC United of Manchester when the Glazers took over. People standing up for something they believe in but I think going to support a complete different club is wrong.

I use the word happily because I can't think of what else to use but I would 'happily' see Utd not win a Cup for a few years just to prove to people that I wouldn't f**k off and support Chelsea or City.

Football shouldn't be about supporting the successful team, unfortunately it is in many cases, it should be about supporting a club you love and will love no matter what.

You're going on about Wigan aren't you?

If I lived IN Wigan, as in, really close to the DW Stadium, I probably would support Wigan... I wouldn't support Man United, Man City, Liverpool or Everton because, even though they are close - They still wouldn't be as close as others.

And out of Bolton, Preston, Blackburn & Wigan... I'd choose Wigan anyday of the week. But I know what you're getting at. It must be a struggle to get fans through the door under all the circumstances that Wigan are in. To average over 18,000 is actually pretty impressive, all things considered.

Though I still can't fathom how you only managed to take 47 fans to the Emirates a few seasons ago. Most teams with similar attendances manage to take at least 800 everywhere they go. Some take 2000.

Familial connections are more important when establishing who to support. It was rare for anybody to support a team whom their parents/uncles etc. didn't follow, as in the majority of cases it really depended on who took you to see which football team first, and you went from there. Where I grew up, most people had roots in either Manchester or Liverpool, so United, Liverpool, Everton and City all had a strong presence, which is inevitable when you consider that the local side was in the Northern Premier Division. Switching sides generally only happens when there isn't a real interest in football in the household, though I suppose there are exceptions, such as a childhood friend of mine who is the son of a former professional footballer - he became a Blackburn fan (though to his credit I suppose he still supports them).

Wigan have only just got themselves into the top tier of English football, relatively speaking, so you cannot expect them to have the same level of support as the other massive teams in the area.

Having said that, they are now establishing themselves as a team who can compete and beat the big boys. Under Roberto Martinez, they are playing confident attractive football and have a decent little stadium with reasonable ticket prices. Anyone in the vicinity getting into football these days could do a lot worse than picking the Latics as their team.

no evidence. so i will't take you heavily that's certainly any incorrect way around. israel will experience "threatened" so it is going to attack egypt first. interior the torah and bible, it says that the holy land extends from the river of the nile to the river of the euphrates. however the actual holy land is what you call palestine. that's motives why israel helps the rebellion in syria. while a clean government is located there additionally, Israel would be "surrounded" and could have not any decision yet to attack first. Israel is grasping for land. they do no longer choose peace. I help egypt because of the fact while a guy trys to convey returned the khalifah, the entire international calls it a fear state. edit: attempt to no longer be ignorant, ok? there have been wars to unfold islam no longer triumph over land. as quickly as returned, you adjust the situation. quite once you're making fake CLAIMS approximately some thing that befell 1400 YEARS in the past. learn history please. and no, the palestinians are no longer fools. better than 0.5 a century they see the comparable right problems happen time after time. there's a clarification why they do no longer pay attention to israel's "peace treaty." that is all a gaggle of lies to lead them to seem harmless to the west. mutually as your at discovering history, learn with reference to the certainty with reference to the lolocaust. . - oops i propose holocaust. reason there replaced into no way in hell there have been 6 million human beings, a length that replaced into purely approximately the dimensions of germany on the time, murdered in for the duration of that ingredient. =======================================... what hypocrisy. You tell the egyptians that "we provide you with democracy," yet then tell them to no longer % their very own leaders, no longer to show the certainty you men are people who positioned them there interior the 1st place. You sir, sound jewish to me. I propose you have your nostril checked to make useful.

I'd support whoever the fc*k I liked, and would not give into that ''oh look what a great fan I am supporting a fcu**ng crap team, through thick and thin, making me a true fan/a better fan that you because your team is successful making it easy to follow them'' kinda peer-pressure..

But.... that's just me...
