I agree. He's not as impressive against the big team when the stakes are high. But still, regardless of that, I bet any fan would want him in their team!

I don't think you can measure a players performance just from his goal tally. Ronaldo contributes a lot of the team in just about every match. Especially for united, the ball always goes through him. He did score in the final of the CL too. I think the biggest thing though, is that in big games, teams tend to focus on the other teams best players and shut them down. Kaka did not show up for their match against Arsenal, Thierry henry has been called the same thing. These individual matches don't define a player but the season does.

first of all: he was injured at the end off the season as you probably already know, but the reason he's not performing is because the big teams can afford it to sacrifice a guy and put it on Ronaldo, if a team like portsmouth does that, they lose 11-0 because they don't have enough man to cover Rooney, Giggs, ...

Yea... ummm no he does not? He actually especially this year was a very consistent player throughout.. In the premierleague and championsleague.. He scored throughout both in some very important games. So i dontknow what your saying you have no knowledge of soccer it seems, when a player scores in the championsleague final above all how could you say he sucks in important matches.. are you ok? and for the euro 08 subpar performances it is obvious he was playing injured ... seeing how right after it ended he had a major surgery and is going to be out for some time now. man befor eyou talk know wat your saying.im not a man utd supporter at all but football is football u see things for what they are and ronaldo is the best player in the world right now. so i dont kno wat ur saying man

The little winker had a lot of pressure on him during all of those games. Once you raise the bar that high it's going to be tough to keep the standard.

Fair arguement though he's not been the best in big games, unlike.....Gerrard.

well his ego is gonna have a bad effect on him as well as on his teammates ..!

unlike Kaka and messi , ron thinks abt money and how he wanna be famous,am a utd fan,but have to say what i got 2 say, he's a disgrace to man utd, his ego, unless he let go of it and start thinking abt how to handle pressure he would be a big flop for madrid if he moves to Results 1 - 10 of about 5,710,000 for bernabeu. (0.41 seconds)

Santiago Bernabéu...

well u cant say he hasn't performed at all..he is the main reason we won the double last season.

it's because everyone is always watching him and he is called the best in the world right now that's why he feels pressure in those matches

No one is perfect. If theres a problem, only Ronaldo can tell you the truth. I speculate that the pressure might do it. It is easier to do something without it.

the pressure is alot and we forget he is really a young lad still but soon maturity will kick in and he will be fine

some players are just able to cope and others need more time i think when the pressure is on and he is in the spot light he cannot deliver because he knows it is on him.

he needs to be in the moment to shine i think.

Theres no such thing as an unimportant match when you're chasing all the silverware.

Basically, when he comes up against better defenders, he struggles.
