Why can't they redraw the city boundaries of Liverpool?

...So that Everton FC can stay in Liverpool. How much bother can it be to redraw a line on a map. It's unthinkable that Everton can leave town.

Redrawing city boundaries is not exactly easy, mate!

Everything from road-works to Council Tax zoning would have to be changed!

You make it sound like a simple process, but it involves everything from sewage to City Governance -- same thing -- and there is NO WAY that Liverpool is going to undertake something so enormous, just to keep Everton playing within Liverpool city limits. Yes, the city does lose revenue from losing the blxxdy Blues, but the sheer, mind-boggling cost of moving the city-limits makes the loss seem trivial.

Y'know, if you thought about everything the City does... NHS Trusts, DWP zones, MPs, maintaining the buses and underground, roads, water-mains, power-grids, and so forth... you'd never have asked such a daft question. Those lines on the maps are not arbitrary, y'know.

That said... no effin' loss. Not an Everton follower. Give me our Reds any day!

So Everton FC are moving to Kirkby - apart from the official Liverpool boundary lines - Kirkby is as much part of Liverpool as Everton is!!

WHy? If Everton want to move it is up to them. What about the people who live close by the stadium, who do not wish to be part of Liverpool? It is not a simple case of drawing a line on a map, as you have to consider local government issues as well.

What...like Wimbledon? Where was Everton hoping to end up? Skelmersdale, or even St. Helens? Man. City just moved from the south of the city to the east.

Ah...Kirkby - thought that was postal district 'Liverpool 36'.

He has said its not just about CL its about a club with Ambition to be the best in the world consistently. He is very happy in Cheshire and does not want to uproot his family thats why he did not consider Real Madrid who were prepaired to pay 40 million for him. Man City have the same passion for success as Man Utd fans did before Sir Alex built the team they are today. He also wants regular first team football and he is not going to get that at Liverpool. So i think he will go to Man City he will be financially set for life and Man City fans love players who give their all for the club. Even Man Utd supporters i have talked too admit they would prefer him at Man City as he has been a good servant to the club, and he would be given a standing ovation during the Derby matches. So Man City for me.

i hope the move to Kirkby comes off for Everton ,we will not be destroying any local parks ,tearing down very old trees and getting into debt for it unlike the red sh-te ,and yes Kirkby is still a part of Liverpool

Everton are moving staduims anyway ( might be ) and if they do there in town . Everton are simular to my club Man City . Meaning in a few years us two clubs will be fighting the battle of the north west .
