I read this article http://www.sportsdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/04/06/149232&mode=thread and it made me wonder if Manchester United can spend whatever they want to hire a squad.

no there is no limit on wages at all or on the amount you can spend on buying players from other countries, the only limit is the funds your backer has thats why chelsea have got so good so quickly they have a russian billionaire as there owner who can spend as much money as they need and there wages are huge but its all small chips for him. most clubs have to balance the books and can only spend what they earn thats why you have such a difference between the rich clubs and poor clubs and why the same clubs win every year unlike alot of american sport

there isn't. but MU can't spend whatever they want, they have a certain budget when it comes to purchasing new players. if you asked about the players salary, there is no limit as far as i know

There is no limit and nor should there be. Only minor sports would ever need to be regulated in that way.
