They are CONSTANTLY talking about if he will be picked for England even though he hasn't even proven himself for United yet!!!!!!!! It does my head in!
Talk about jumping the gun, we don't even know if he will sustain his damn fitness....

I know what you are saying, I have been seeing it everywhere.
Honestly though, I am not to worried about it. I think he will be put on the England squad when the World Cup comes around. They don't really have that many strikers to pick from. If I am not mistaken they only brought three to face against Holland. Either way, it wasn't a big number, and they need another decent striker to help out Rooney.
But i am interested to see how he does with United now. Hopefully he does well, I have always liked Owen.

I believe they saw something special in him when he was with reds, like a savior, the next champion, the man who will bring the wc back to england and they still have that simpathy for him even thought he had a stretch of bad luck at real and Newcastle. They simlply like him.
I always liked him too and i hope he proves himself still capable of playing on hightest level, perhaps to be the first 11 striker again

I think it's their obsession with A) English players and B) The Devil's Own United, as if they're "The Other National Team of England."

RELAX. Take a walk, have a nap and then you will be as calm as ever :).
As for the Owen/media business I dunno, I guess because he has moved to United he will obviously be getting a much better chance to prove himself with better players. So he will also improve his play & it looks like he is playing great along side the United lads so their playing off that.
You know they could actually be right... for ONCE ;).

Is there even a space for him on the England team by the way Defoe played today?!

The media has certain favourites, normally the ones the go drinking with or gambling with. Also when have you ever seen or heard a journalist admit they were wrong.

They need something to talk about, why not Owen?
