its just consistency, the hardest thing to get when you're building a new team.
we're safe in the knowledge that we can beat anyone on the day, but getting that level of consistency to perform at that level, or not that far away from it is the hardest thing to get right.
anyone who has played the game at any level will know that when you play against teams that are 'not as good' they drag you down to playing their game at their level.
there is absolutely no difference between what kenny and liverpool are going through now to what alex ferguson went through in his first season in charge at man u.
its all too easy (money permitting) to build a team like chelsea did in 2003 onwards or what city are doing now..but its all just short term. in effect they build teams, win a couple of trophies, flog the team to death, sack managers, start all over again.
its great for fans that arnt used to success, but the fact is..it isn't sustainable.
fans of other clubs constantly accuse liverpool fans of 'living in the past' but if those people were just a little bit honest with themselves, they would realise that they compare the liverpool sides of now to the successful sides of the 70s and 80s and that's the reason why they see us as 'unsuccessful'
there is no comparison. imagine spurs winning the trophies that we have won in the last ten years. would they still be seen as 'unsuccessful'? they wouldn't, would they? but because liverpool arnt having the same level of success we've had in the past, we are.
now that IS baffling.

breaking bad

thats true enough mate, but players going into what is already a successful club with twenty years worth of trophies behind them are already going into a club with that established winning mentality.
its far harder for players to go into what a manager is trying to create right from the beginning.
that's why we re-built time after time in the 70s and 80s. under different managers
its far easier when players go into an established winning mentality
